There is much to hate about Bill Gates, and I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been a Gates hata for years. But there’s also much to admire in the man, and his commitment to global health issues – $7B donated in the last ten years or so – ranks right at the top of the list. His business practices aside for a moment, his latest mega-$$ pledge to help vaccinate the world’s poorest children is an example of how rich people ought to spend their money. More here and here.

That said, I still don’t plan on being a beta-tester for Microsoft’s inevitable Windows for Wetware release….
