Today, on Sunday Morning, CBS News Correspondent Elizabeth Kaledin informed us that Barnard College is in the Ivy League. This no doubt comes as something of a shock to the folks at Barnard, to say nothing of those at Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, and Yale, who for all these decades have been operating under the delusion that the Ivy League consisted of just them.
Coming up next week: UCLA is in the Atlantic Coast Conference and Mexico is in Belgium.
Hey, I wonder if CBS can get St. Bonaventure into the Ivy League….

Kaledin wasn’t too far off. Barnard’s varsity athletes do compete in the Ivy League… on the Columbia teams.

And yes, I know that the affiliation doesn’t make Barnard an Ivy League school, but it wouldn’t make Barnard a Div. 1 school either, which is what they boast on the website.
Right. That I know. But that’s not even remotely what she was saying.
