I’m in SD for the Popular Culture Association conference, which is now officially under way. But let me tell you, getting here was an ordeal.

• Wake up at 2:30 am.
• Leave at 3 am for 90-minute drive to Buffalo Airport.
• Uneventful first leg, culminating in 2-hour layover in Philly.
• Flight from Philly to SD is 45 minutes late getting off the ground.
• 5 1/2-hour leg to SD.
• Finally check in at lovely Marriott Hotel & Marina some 13.5 hours after waking up.

Now begins the task of adjusting to the three-hour time change.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there were at least a couple direct flights between Buffalo and somewhere other than Philly or Cincy?

fikshun will be over in a few minutes so we can go to dinner. Tomorrow, I think it’s going to be lunch with myths_americana and maybe dinner with jentifred? Good to see folks. Also, have to finish putting my presentation together for Friday….
