Awww, my mom just shaved down Max with similar results (though he’s only part terrier). You have to admit, though, the shagginess is cute (albeit it does destroy vacuum cleaners, as my mother has attested).
No, it doesn’t. Max always feels better after he loses his hair for the summer months. And it always grows back for winter, just in time to serve as a warm coat perfect for romping in the snow. And it also gives my mother’s rugs, couch, towels, anything that his hair gets on, a reprieve. 🙂
Oh, agreed. You could brush Max 5 times a day and it still wouldn’t be enough. And, of course, like a little kid he would run away from the brush because he would always have knots (no matter how much you brush him!), and he would never let you get at the knots, turning them into matts …
… of course, I know you know all of this already, obviously!
Maggie
Maggie, our inordinately shaggy Cocker with the strong anti-social streak, got shaved for the summer on Wed. I’ll try to post a picture at the Truffle.
Ronan the Scottish Terror
Call me crazy, but I like the before. All that hair made him look tough.
A handsome devil in either case.
I like all the hair too! He looks cooler!
P.S. Did you hear how crazy celebs are getting plastic surgery for their dogs?

Oh, he’s STILL tough….
Ummm, they’re what?
The shaggy can be cute, but I’m thinking it can’t feel so great as warm weather approaches…..

The problem with the long winter coat is that it’s impossible to keep brushed and groomed.

Indeed – for awhile there we had a dog with dreadlocks. No fun, that….
