Daily Brushback: Jobs and housing
Today’s Daily Brushback is for the president.
LP: Mr. President, despite administration confidence that the US economy is firing on all cylinders, millions of Americans are more uncertain than ever about the job market. They see negative-to-flat growth numbers and they know from experience that a lot of the jobs out there offer significantly less in compensation, benefits, and security than what was normal even five years ago. Since home investment requires an income certainty that matches the cost certainty associated with signing a 30-year mortgage agreement, aren’t you worried that our failure to boost employment stability is leading us toward an almost guaranteed real estate collapse?
