Update on Leopold/Rove
As noted Sunday, Jason Leopold of TruthOut reported that Karl Rove was going to be indicted in the Plamegate case this week. As I said then:
It should be noted that while this story is being reported by several agencies, Leopold is the source for each. So far, then, we don’t have much in the way of confirmation.
If the story is true, though, how come a guy from TruthOut is the only one who has it? Where are CNN, ABC, CBS, BBC, NBC, and FOX? (Okay, I threw FOX in there just to be funny.) If it’s not true, then props to those agencies for holding fire until they have substantive reason to report it.
Well, there is now some suspicion that Leopold’s story isn’t accurate.
So what happened? Hard to imagine that Leopold confused TruthOut with a creative writing journal. Which would mean he was set up. But by who? And why?
Hmmm. Well, I immediately think back to Rathergate and start wondering if Rove could have orchestrated it in order to discredit a reporter – especially a leftie who was probably sniffing around being a pain in the butt.
It’s probably bad that I’m this cynical, huh?

It’s OK to be cynical, I still think LBJ had something to do with the events on 11/22/63.
Aloha,
Jeff
