Starship: Denver Convention Center (a bracketing/HDR study)

Another set from my trip this past week down to the Denver Convention Center. I decided to play with bracketing and HDR a bit on this shot to see how my skills are progressing. First, the shot above, which is not HDR. Next time I’m going to shoot this without the polarizer filter – the blues in the sky are a bit too overcooked.
Up next, into Photomatix we go. I started with the Photographic preset and adjusted from there.

On this one I began with the Creative preset, which gives you a silvery, slightly desaturated result.

This one isn’t HDR, either – I tool the first version above, then output to black and white in Photoshop.

Finally, a chromish take using one of the b/w functions in Photomatix.
