Where I Started, Where We’re Going

I was born and raised in the South in the 1960s and ’70s, so I started conservative. Now, though, I stand to the “left” of most Americans.

I haven’t gotten here because I’m an ideologue. I’ve watched, studied, worked, taught, listened, lived different places, met a wide variety of people, and written extensively, over the past three or four decades, on who our society is, for better or worse.

This “manifesto” (you can have a field day with the title if I ever start blowing things up) is a brief statement of where I have arrived, why, and what I believe is possible.

It likely represents the last political content I will ever publish. I hope you’ll read it. I hope you’ll find value in it. The journey has certainly made me better…
