Foote reportedly signs three-year, $13.5M deal
Associated PressCOLUMBUS, Ohio — Adam Foote, a defensive cornerstone of two Stanley Cup championship teams in Colorado, signed a three-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday. (Story.)
Bummer.
I guess I was expecting this, given the economics of the new NHL, but it’s still hard to imagine the Avs without Footer. One thing’s for sure – the Jackets’ defensive zone just became a much less pleasant place for people wearing the wrong color sweater.
If Colorado doesn’t resign Foppa – and who knows what will happen on that front – this will leave Sakic as the last remaining player who came over from Quebec when the franchise moved ten years ago….
Best of luck to Foote. I have no idea how we’ll replace you.
