Gravedance at my place: mark your calendars

Some day – hopefully very soon – God is going to call Pat Robertson home. On that day there will be a party at my house. You’re invited. I know this is bad juju, but I’ll chance it. After all, is there really anything so terribly wrong with holding a man accountable to his own standards?

Robertson Links Sharon’s Stroke to Wrath

NORFOLK, Va. — Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s stroke was divine punishment for “dividing God’s land.”

“God considers this land to be his,” Robertson said on his TV program “The 700 Club.” “You read the Bible and he says `This is my land,’ and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, `No, this is mine.'”

  • I don’t like Sharon but I hate Robertson. I think we’ll be better off when they both pass.

  • Robertson’s rants
What I hate about Robertson is that people who don’t know better think that he speaks for Christianity.
He doesn’t. Nor does he speak for God, though he seems to think that he does.

He speaks for every Christian who remains silent when he speaks in their name.

Every Christian I know (and I consider myself one although I’m using the term very loosely) hates that man. He is as much a non-entity as the supposed “public” outcry against indecency on television. No one outside of a very vocal, very hateful, and very, VERY small group of people cares about what that man thinks.

  • As a Buddhist I really shouldn’t do this, bad Karma and all.
Let me know what I need to bring! I’ll be there.
This man has been nothing but trouble.
How can you that call yourself Christians allow this man to use your names on his television show?

  • Most Christians don’t have TIME to address all the stupid things this wingnut says. I think if I were a Christian I’d just issue a blanket statement – stick it on my Web site and leave it there – saying “Pat Robertson does NOT speak for me or any other REAL Christian.”
