Boondocks shutting down

“The Boondocks,” the edgy comic strip by Aaron McGruder that’s currently in reruns, will end in November, Universal Press Syndicate announced Monday.
In March, McGruder announced a six-month sabbatical to concentrate on other projects, including the animated “Boondocks” series that runs on the Atlanta-based Cartoon Network and will remain in production. The comic was supposed to resume with new strips in October. But Universal said it could not get a commitment from McGruder on when — or if — he would return. (Story.)
