I know the feeling. I love my dog more than a vast majority of people – I did a blog on this a few months back – and I think if you haven’t actually had that kind of relationship with one it probably makes no sense at all.
Here’s a hint, though. If somebody’s in a house with my dog and it’s on fire, and they see me come bursting in, they shouldn’t be surprised when I grab Ronan first… 🙂

I think I remember that post. I might have commented about how my ex had never had a pet, so had never felt that love. That should have been a big red flag. I now ask about pets when “interviewing” for new $boy.
