I’m pretty sure they started all the fires out here in California from Germany. 🙂 And as much as that band scares the crap out of me, that keyboard player cracks me up.
I was watching this video the other night while my wife was trying to get something done in the other room – she asked me to stop, not because she didn’t like it, but because Du Hast was disturbing enough that it demanded she pay attention, and she was busy.
This song actually inspired my band to do a German heavy metal song called “Glockenspiel”. Yes there’s a glockenspiel in the song, and yes we reference David Hasselhoff.
I’ve read somewhere that the song is also a play on words with German wedding vows. And that one form of the word “hassen” (hate) is hasst. I think they just wanted to mess with people. 🙂

Well, I’ve argued a long time that rock has fascist tendencies. Leave it to the Germans to offer undeniable proof…. 😉
Rocks like hell, though, doesn’t it…?

The actual music video is even more disturbing.
Anyone got a link to a translation of the lyrics?
You
You have
You have me
You
You have
You have me
You have asked me
You have asked me
You have asked me
And I did not say anything
Will you until death does sever
Be upright to her forever
No
Will you til death be her rider
Her lover too, to stay inside her
No
@ Jim – they’re EAST German. As much as my woman loves Rammstein, she also loves to make that crowbar separation.

Yeah, Uber, they were just messing with Americans. Sam’s translation is correct.
