Exclusive: pics of the new LeBron James nickname jersey

You may have heard that the NBA, in an attempt to wring every last dollar from you, is going to experiment with “nickname jerseys.” That is, instead of players having their names on the back of their shirts – Kevin Garnett has “Garnett,” for instance – they’ll have their nicknames. So Garnett, we’d expect, will be “Big Ticket.”

Spike Lee leaked a pic of the jersey Ray Allen will wear. He played Jesus Shuttlesworth in Lee’s He Got Game, and that’s the route he’s going here.

Scholars & Rogues has obtained an exclusive shot of the jersey Allen’s teammate, LeBron James, will wear. Surprisingly, it’s not “King James.”

He Hate MeYes, boys and girls, this has been done before, and now the NBA is taking its cues from Vince McMahon and the XFL. Up next: Tony Siragusa’s fat ass harasses coaches at halftime and the champions win a million dollars!

Note: If you’re lost, perhaps because you were mercifully too young to remember this fiasco when it happened, here’s the 411.

If that really is what is jersey will say, it’s actually a clever dig at the management for their cheap ploy to wring out more jersey sales. “Yes, NBA. You’ve gone full XFL. You never go full XFL.”

Also, it’s even a double entendre making fun of The Decision.

He Hate Me is one of the great moments in sports, a wonderful bid for immortality by a player who otherwise would never have even been noticed, and a poignant and heartfelt little bit of poetry. Thanks for the reminder.

Herr Smith; I think professional sports can make a significant contribution to our nation’s sacred war on depression by placing the names of our concerned pharmaceutical companies that provide our citizens with their needed antidepressants on the jerseys, socks and even the under garments of these modern gladiators. Pfizer, AstraZeneca and others would remind our sports fanatics of their obligation to practice proper mental hygiene and take their medicine. Let us not forget Shire Pharmaceuticals who make Adderal for attention deficit disorder so the millions of our youngsters who take this miracle medicine also are included and inspired to new athletic heights.
