I recently received this from someone I correspond with. This person is employed by the Federal government. I think it raises all kinds of questions about how our tax-supported agencies are being adminstered. Draw your own clonclusions.

Dear Sam:

As I recently informed you, I have decided to no longer use my workplace email account except for work related activities even though it is permissible for me to use that account for non-work emails if I desire to do so. The reason for my choice revolves around my recent discovery that apparently ALL emails from our work accounts are being screened (i.e., read) and anything of a “questionable” nature is then apparently being “reported”. Items that are considered “questionable” apparently include political beliefs or expressions thereof that do not support our current presidential administration’s policies. In an effort to protect individuals from this sort of unwanted scrutiny I will no longer use that account for personal emails of any sort. In addition, for those of you who occasionally call me at work, be advised that as of a short time ago, without any notice to the employees, a phone system was reportedly installed at my workplace which records and screens ALL incoming and outgoing phone calls.

Sincerely,
Xxxxxx
