The Giants just announced that Barry Bonds won’t be wearing his old #25 anymore, and posted a picture of his new jersey on their Web site. Here’s a preview:
yes, indeed. i do have to admit — this newer wave is better than the first. interpol might just be better than joy division, but will they be better than new order when they get the girl keyboardist? that’s the real question! and as much as i liked the Vapors, Franz is better. i don’t know why they remind me of the Vapors, but they do.
and The Killers are my absolute favorite.
I don’t know older Interpol, but I’m playing hell trying to hear the JD in this record, and have read the band talking about that subject, too. I’m having a hard time putting my finger on what I think is at work there, but in general this wave of Nu Wave is a refreshing change from the “garage” and emo crap that’s been flopping around like a dying fish on the set of a Faith No More video shoot….
i’ve heard maybe 3 songs by interpol. i couldn’t tell you which ones. the JD influence was unmistakable.
maybe after the napster scare, the industry has realized that they can’t keep churning out the same old crap … nah.
Isn’t that McQuire and Cansecco’s numbers too?
lovely. damn that franz ferdinand. i’m going to need a black and decker power drill to get those songs out of my head.
Yeah, but they’re on different teams.
The FF disc is indeed a gem – a top-fiver on my annual list. But I think the Interpol is better, and the Killers and Faint records are awesome, too.
