Outta money, outta hope, it looks like self-destruction: 30-Day Song Challenge, the Sequel, day 6 – your favorite song for flying down the highway at top speed
My guess is that “Radar Love” is going to get a lot of love in this category, and it’s easy to understand why. Still, as I have explained before, I’m a simply country boy.
So let’s see how many dueling lead guitarists Molly Hatchet can line up across the front of the stage for the solo to “Flirtin’ with Disaster.”
Happy Saturday. Y’all drive safe now, y’hear?

For a brief period I moved back to North Canton and I viewed getting on the freeway to go to Cleveland as “reaching escape velocity.” I also discovered that if I hit “Play” when I got in the car, I’d hit the instrumental coda in Fish’s “Internal Exile” just as I was heading up the entrance ramp.

Radar Love was my first choice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hw9CzSSk218 Flirting With Disaster would be my 3rd, and my 2nd is 38 Special Rockin’ Into the Night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1722VFxD-qI
So Holland gets the gold and the silver and bronze go to Jacksonville, huh? A little surprised by the .38 Special, I have to say….
This is an odd one for me, because during my senior year I spent 4 classes at my high school and then took classes at CU in the afternoons. So I listened to KBCO around lunch every day as I flew down the highway for 30 minutes every day during 1990 and 1991 and the station introduced me to this amazing singer named Suzanne Vega. And this is one of my favorites of her’s: http://youtu.be/tHZV7NOqEY4
And another: http://youtu.be/kWXnGT3GaRE
And why not, how about another while I’m at it: http://youtu.be/05AHPFPpHIM
Suzanne Vega is pretty much the ultimate highway driving music for me.
I’ve heard my share of Suzanne Vega, but never in a million years would I have expected her to turn up in this thread.
ZZ Tops LaGrange
LaGrange is a good one too!
Sam, not all .38 Special, but this song is great for flying down the road.
