What do you see in this image?

Viper: Moth Orchid

When you take macro shots of orchids and process them for abstraction, people frequently respond this way:

1. Wow, that’s pretty.
2. Ummm. [pause] What is it?

While people rarely buy things they don’t connect with instantly (and that means they have to recognize it), abstracts can lead to fun conversations about what it looks like. In this shot, I see something sinister – a viper menacing its prey. My girlfriend sees a flying jester.
