#photoremixchallenge at 5280 Lens Mafia
5280 Lens Mafia’s #photoremixchallenge explores how different photographers view the same shot.
Before taking up photography I never really thought a lot about how many different ways there are to approach an individual shot. Now, though, I’ve come to understand just how many different factors weigh into the decision on how to portray a subject. And one photo can wind up as so many different final images – different, and even contradictory.
To explore this dynamic a bit, S&R’s sister site 5280 Lens Mafia has undertaken an interesting series in which several of us swap photos and process each other’s shots as if they were our own. Included in the project are several S&R staffers and contributors, and the crew represents some dramatically different styles.
We invite you to pop over and spend a couple minutes exploring the #photoremixchallenge (the project should continue for a couple more weeks).
Here’s my favorite so far: S&R’s Dr. Denny’s take on Greg Thow’s shot of The Bean in Grant Park, Chicago.
